How We Got Started
As I was sitting at my computer one day in early January 2006, It suddenly hit me like a ton of bricks. "We are killing ourselves and we don't even know it"! Then the name came to me: This Race Will Self-Destruct...A Closer Look at Abortion and HIV/AIDS in the African American Community.
At that moment I decided to invite about three mothers and their teen-aged daughters to my home for a Mother-Daughter Tea. The topic of discussion: Abortion and HIV/AIDS.
The next thing I knew, forty people wanted to come! I ended up having two separate teas to accommodate everyone.
The attendees began inviting me to speak to their groups in town and out of town.
